The day is used to encourage individuals, communities, and organisations to engage in activities that support environmental sustainability. Earth Day aims to inspire people to take care of natural resources and work toward a cleaner, healthier Earth.
Earth Day 2025’s focus and theme is OUR POWER, OUR PLANET. It aims to invite everyone around the globe to unite behind renewable energy and to triple the global generation of clean electricity by 2030.

B.E.S.T.

In 2022, we launched the Bowers Energy Saving Transformer (B.E.S.T.). This transformer utilises amorphous core technology to increase energy efficiency and reduce energy losses and CO² waste compared to a standard Tier 2 transformer.

The B.E.S.T. perfectly aligns with the Earth Day 2025 message in creating a ‘greener’ energy solution.

Carbon Mitigated Delivery

Alongside the B.E.S.T., we offer Carbon Mitigated Delivery.

Heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) are major polluters and the second-largest contributor to UK transportation emissions. We are looking to do our bit to combat this.

With the delivery of the B.E.S.T. units to their final location, wherever it may be in the UK, we will plant enough trees to absorb all the CO² produced by the HGV delivery.

These trees, over the next 20 years, will absorb approximately 200kg of CO² each.

MIDEL Service Partnership

MIDEL is a range of natural and synthetic ester fluids which offers biodegradable alternatives to conventional transformer oils.

MIDEL ester fluids are known for their excellent fire safety and environmental protection properties, as well as their ability to extend the life of transformers. With the growth of strict government standards in terms of encouraging better stewardship of the environment, MIDEL fluids perfectly complement this growing call for environmental protection.

All MIDEL ester transformer fluids are fully and readily biodegradable and fire-safe, which are not properties found in traditional transformer fluids. MIDEL fluids present a much lower risk to the local environment if a spillage was to occur (readily biodegradable according to OECD 301 and fully biodegradable according to IEC 61039).
